Hi, I believe 
OG
alone would not be sufficient.While you get lot of guidance through this
forum,you can always get additional materials and prep well since you have time.I prepared
using veratis online along with 
GMAT club tests
and some useful references books(details I can
provide if you wish).this helped me move my mocks from 540 to a 620 in a month's time. I
heard 
mgmat
is also very good .can provide more info if needed

I feel strategy provided in Veratis has worked for me,it has helped me improve Quan a lot.I havent
worked much with 
MGMAT
,you could check with someone who has used 
MGMAT
,but i have
heard from friends that it definitely helps improve Verbal.I have a lot of reference materials but due
to lack of time, i couldnt go through all of them. While 
OG
is a must , more importantly,the correct
strategy to solve 
OG
questions helps improve scores. 5-6 months is ample time for a target score
of 700 as long as you are on the right track.
If you are working, atleast 1 hr a day should help ,and weekend you could pull out more
time(around 4-5 hrs per day). The more you practice, the better the scores. So, the lesser the
breaks you take inbetween the study plan, the easier it will be for you to remember and work on
the strategies. Also, since you are in the beginning, it is very important to identify your areas of
weakness before you directly start with a plan. 
GMAT Club tests
helped me a lot, so i will definitely recommend that along with GMAT prep tests.
