The table compares four secondary school types in terms of how the percentage of children attended in the years 2000 and 2009.
Overall, it is clear that the percentage of voluntary-controlled school attendance by the pupils dropped dramatically, while the proportion of community schools participation rose importantly. Attending specialist schools and grammar schools faced a slight decrease over the period given.
Looking more closely at the table, we can see that attending specialist schools by the pupils make up 12%. After that decreased slowly to ten percent within 10 years. While 24 % of pupils attended to grammar schools in 2000. After almost a decade (9 years) this percentage dropped significantly to 12 percent.
The rest of the schools namely Voluntary-controlled and Community we’re chosen by pupils changed hugely. Especially, Community school attendance grew dramatically from 12 percent to 58 percent. While Voluntary-controlled schools participation by school children saw an enormous fall from 52% to 20% in the period of given respectively.
