Practical value of the course paper: Syllable formation in English and syllable division in English.
The structure of the course paper: the course paper consists of introduction, main part, conclusion and the list of used literatures. Introduction has information about general view of the theme, reveals the aim, duties, theoretical and practical value of the course paper. Main Part consists of two chapters: first is theories on syllable formation and division and the second one is graphic representation of syllables in English and functional characteristics of the syllable. Conclusion combines the main and significant results of our investigation. Bibliography shows the list of used literatures.

CHAPTER I. THEORIES ON SYLLABLE FORMATION AND DIVISION

Speech continuum can be broken into syllables — minimal pronounceable units presenting a cluster or group of sounds. Syllables form language units of greater magnitude: morphemes, words and phrases, each of them characterized by a certain syllabic structure. Thus, any meaningful language unit may be considered from the point of view of two aspects: syllable formation and syllable division, which form a dialectal unity.
