Group Competition


There are three Activities in the competition:

1. 
   Spelling Bea
   The word list will be given to you, and you should learn their spelling and definitions.
   

Each student comes to the stage and needs to spell the word given, and 2 words are given to spelling for each participant. Every student who spells the word correctly gets 5 marks if not 0. Every participant has 10 seconds to think and 30 seconds to answer. Any team member who tries to help his or her teammate, they are penalised by losing 5 marks.

2. 
   Group Presentation
   

Each group needs to make a video under the topic “We are talented youngsters”
and represent it to the audience. The video must be a maximum of 10 minutes and a minimum of 7. The group should follow the following requirements when they make the video:

• 
  Each group should choose a name for their group and represent it on their video
  
• 
  Each group member should introduce themselves on the video
  
• 
  Each group member should talk their own talents by creating some interesting events (acting some roles, interview roles, building something, doing something)
  
• 
  Use nice and meaningful music to attract the audience’s attention
  
• 
  Each group member should attend on your video and use your creativity to make it interesting and in good quality
  

3. 
   Group Discussion
   

For each group, three topics will be given to discuss, and each group member will give their ideas about the topic turn by turn. For each group, 5 minutes will be given to brainstorm and divide the turns to talk. The groups should follow the following rules in a group discussion:

  Each group member should start their talk by introducing himself/herself,
  
• 
  Each group member should start their talk by thanking the opposite group members’ ideas
  
• 
  Listen carefully and show respect when the opposite group gives ideas
  
• 
  Don’t cut the opposite group members’ talk
  
• 
  Use useful expressions to ask questions
  
• 
  Let the opposite group finish their ideas then start your speech

• 
  Thank you for your opinion, can you please repeat the point you mentioned about (idea)

Warning! If any participants do not follow the rules above the group will be penalised and lose marks, if it happens a second time that participant will be disqualified from the competition.
