3. LEARN THE BASIC STRATEGIES OF ISEs
Because the ISE is an unusual test, it is way too easy to think that they can’t be hacked
or that they are no strategies worth learning. There are way
too many people out there
that
But you know what? The LSAT is a tough test too. But there are many strategies out
there that can make the test much easier. Many people take LSAT prep courses or read
strategies books for the LSAT. If someone said “there’s no way to hack the LSAT” you’d
know that was bullshit.
It’s the same with Law School exams. Many people (especially fellow 1Ls) will say the
only way to prepare is to “study hard” and “know your material.” That’s
important, but
having a repeatable strategy for breaking down ISEs is just as important.

3. LEARN THE BASIC STRATEGIES OF ISEs
In Law School, your job is two-fold: master the law AND master the tests. Almost
everyone focuses exclusively on the former.
At
Legal Eagle, we pioneered the
Eagle Eye Essay Writing System
,
which is included in
the 1L Masterclass. We break down ISEs, and teach you a system that shows you how
to ace any Law School exam in any subject. We teach people how to get A’s on their
exams, pure and simple.

4. REVIEW SEVERAL CASES (APPELLATE OPINIONS)
The Law School case method relies on students reviewing cases before class. But not
just any “cases.”
Specifically, appellate opinions. You’re going to be reading 5-10
opinions from various courts of appeal and supreme courts per night.
Therefore, because you are going to be reading so many of them, is worthwhile to
familiarize yourself with the anatomy of an appellate opinion.
Read a few appellate
cases. Try to find a few short ones. US Supreme Court opinions are ok, but know that
they are going to be very long and complicated.
