Every country has it’s own history , by this way future generation could know , learn, research and study about it. However, some of the historical destinations , ancient buildings were destroyed after the particular period of time. In order to save those kind of Heritage sites all over the world United Nations Educational, Scientific, Cultural Organization took responsibility to protect World Heritage Sites which are the destinations for places which play a vital role in humanity as well as the country’s history. Unfortunately this movement began it’s work in the second half of the 20th century. Thus, there were even more historical places, ancient mansions, outstanding sculptures of kings, emperors and even cities. The matter fact that, those places that have been saved till these days, should be the reason why we should protect the history. In this essay I will describe on of the first sites that is listed in World Heritage and of the Seven Wonders of the world Taj Mahal in India.
History of Taj Mahal and emperor Shah Jahan
The Mughal emperor who lived (1592-1666) Shahobiddin Muhammad Hurram ( throne name Shah Jahan I) who the grand-grandson of Zahiriddin Muhammad Bobur who was the Emperor in the 15-16thcentury in India and Afghanistan . However, Shah Jahan was born in Lahor, Pakistan. He was born in 5th January in 1592 , which is National holiday that is celebrated in Uzbekistan as well. He immortalized his name by construction of Taj Mahal in Agra city. In 1631, Shah Jahan, who was the Emperor during the Mughal Empire’s period of the best success , was a huge lost when his third wife , Mumtaz mahal died during the birth of their fourteenth child, at Gauhar Ara Begum. Historians consider that ShahJahan’s grief illustrate the love story as an inspiration for building the Taj Mahal.
Architecture
Representing it’s architecture covers a lot common to Today’s Middle Asian’s buildings and mosques. Taj Mahal incorporates and expand the design traditions of Persian architecture and earlier Mughal architecture. Specific idea of the design of the Taj Mahal came from successful Temurid and Mughal buildings including the Tomb of Timur , the Gur-e Amir, which is located in Samarkand and Humayun’s Tomb in Delhi, by his wife, Hamida Begum. Famous architect Ustad-Ahmad Lahori was in charge in the construction of Taj Mahal. The beginning of the construction began it’s work in 1631 by the order of ShahJahan. It was constructed using materials from all over the India and Asia. In the construction it took effort of twenty two thousand workers, painters and about one thousand elephants helped them. The hardest and the main part was the exterior of Taj Mahal where responsible embroiders artists and stonecutters to shape this mausoleum. The purpose for building of Taj Mahal was the grave for ShahJahan’s wife and late after he also was buried there. The Tomb Is major attraction and main focus of the whole complex of the Taj Mahal . . It was large and it stands on a square support including semmetrical building with an arch-shaped doorway, also called iwan, a large vaulted hall that opens onto a countryyard and served as reception hall in palaces or places of worship. In addition to that, on the top of the iwan, it is a large dome and finial that gives extra decoration to the building.
