participation of high-ranking representatives
of Central Asian
countries and the diplomatic corps in the conference testifies to
the high interest in the world towards Tashkent’s regional policy
to enhance interaction in Central Asia.
Eminent experts and diplomats
from all countries of
Central Asia
– Kazakhstan,
Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and
Turkmenistan – also attended the conference.
Ambassadors of
neighboring states also participated in the discussion held in
Uzbekistan.
During the exchange of views with Uzbek experts on the
agenda of the forum, almost all foreign contributors underscored
that the new regional policy of Uzbekistan
helped to change the
political atmosphere in Central Asia and lay the basis for
effective regional cooperation.
The speeches and comments
of the participants were
suggestive of the closeness and similarity of stances of all Central
Asian states on key issues of international cooperation and
regional security.
They expressed confidence
that many of the ideas and
proposals voiced today to build and shore up cooperation in
Central Asia will find their practical implementation in the work
of the International Conference
on Security and Sustainable
106
Development in Central Asia, which
Uzbekistan plans to hold
under the auspices of the UN in November 2017 in Samarkand.
At the close of the conference,
it is expected to approve a
corresponding communiqué calling for the UN General Assembly
to adopt a resolution on ensuring peace, security and sustainable
development in Central Asia.
