8 DAILY PLAN

IELTS 8+ DAILY PLAN
I know for sure that a lot of IELTS candidates struggle with discipline, or they lack consistency. As a
consequence, they will not live up to their expectations and end up getting a lower score than their
potential. You are also no exception I think, otherwise you would not open this file. What I am going to
offer you now can come in handy. You should also acknowledge the fact that I used this daily action plan
when my level of English was already advanced. Beware that the tasks you should do might vary if your
score is lower or higher.
The main reason why I got such a wonderful overall score of 8.0 with an 8.0 in speaking and a 7.0 in
writing has to do with how consistent I was. I used to spend around 8+ hours a day just immersing
myself in English. Immersion is the key to master any new language, by the way. However, I never
overlooked the importance of relaxation as well. The reason being it is crucial for a variety of scientific
reasons which I don’t think I have to talk about, so please just get the point. Try to be productive —
without relaxation you cannot be — but not busy since there is a big difference between being busy and
productive. Deal with procrastination and focus on your main priorities, otherwise it is too difficult to
achieve the goal you have if you get distracted a lot.
For the most part, I was good at learning from my mistakes every day when preparing for IELTS in
summer this year. I guess this is the best possible way to pull off 7+ in IELTS. You might wonder how I
found my mistakes, so let me tell you. I tried to get feedback on my speaking and writing as much as I
could from those who were more qualified than me. But there is a secret! Not only did I get feedback,
but also, I would act on the feedback! This is the secret! Be sure you are open-minded and can admit
your mistakes and learn from them constantly. This helps you make the life-changing event happen in
your life. Anyways, enjoy this action plan.
LISTENING 9.0
Overall, the main thing to get a great score in Listening is to listen a lot. I built a habit of listening to at
least 2 podcasts a day. But there is one thing you should keep in mind. Have a proper mindset. Do not
think this way: “ If I listen to these podcasts today, my listening will increase significantly”. Instead think
this way: “ I want to listen to these podcasts because there is a thing I can learn, which then might serve
well in the future”. Apart from that, I would mostly focus on part 3, Multiple choice questions as they are
quite problematic. I would do practice and analyze with scripts and learn new words by heart. I would
spend around 2 hours for that a day.
READING 8.0
I honestly hated reading for a long time just because I was stuck at the same level. In order to get a good
score for reading not only should you have nice lexical resource and grammar — reading
comprehension, but also, you should have good thinking skills ( Mindset). You should be able to think
critically since some questions don’t check your reading comprehension, but your mindset. That’s why
for the most part, I did a lot of practice to have good thinking skills. I watched many walkthroughs
prepared by band 9 holders in reading, on YouTube. I would not just watch, but copy the way they
thought and learn from my mistakes. On top of this, I had a habit of making keyword tables after doing
practice. I would learn new words by heart. I would mostly focus on Passage 2 and 3, and spend around

2+ hours for everything related to reading. By the way, I would read some articles and books if wanted
to as well.
WRITING 7.0
If you ask me, the best way to improve your writing is to write a lot, get feedback on your essays and
most importantly act on the feedback you get. The formula is like this: 7+ WRITING= A lot of
essays/reports+ feedback+ learning from the mistakes. When I had around 30 days till the exam, I
started working on my writing intensively. I would write an essay/report a day and have it checked by a
qualified person. Then I would work on my problems. Also, I used to read many sample answers on the
Internet and I enjoyed analyzing and learning some cool vocab + grammar from them. I would spend
around 2+ hours for my writing a day.
SPEAKING 8.0
The strategy that works for writing works for speaking as well. Speak a lot. Get thorough feedback on
your speaking. Act on the feedback. That’s it. I have taken many mock tests with band 8+ holders and
asked them for feedback. That helped me quite a lot, so I am really thankful for the feedback they
provided. Just get this point that learning from your mistakes is the best way to improve in any field,
even in life. I would do live practice with my partner and get constructive feedback. Mostly we focused
on Part 2 and part 3 questions. I would put in around 2 hours for practice a day. But I would not just stop
after practicing. I would be doing a lot of self-talk during the day. I would try to verbalize my thoughts in
English every day. Still the secret lies in consistency.

I hope you enjoyed all this.
Sincerely,
Your teacher, Abdurazzoq Khanov
