IELTS SPEAKING ASSISTANT 
PART I 
TOPIC #1 WORK AN STUDIES. 
1.Do you work or are you a student?
The latter is for me. I’m a currently 2
nd
year student at the Academic Lyceum of International House-Tashkent. 
It is located in the center of Tashkent where I live. 
Work The former is true for me, actually. Currently, I'm a full-time teacher at a private educational facility. I 
teach English and I should say that It's a fairly satisfying job. 
Student Well, the latter. Currently, I am enrolled as a bachelor degree student at the university of economics. I 
am a second year student there and I'm majoring in economics and finance. 
Applicant Neither, actually. To be honest, I failed my university exams last year and I am not employed 
currently either and preparing to enter a university. I think I should be called an applicant. 
Pupil I'm a school pupil, actually. I'm an eleventh grader at one of the biggest schools of this city. It is located 
in southern part. 
2.What work do you do? What subjects are you studying? 
It is a combination subjects actually. We don’t get to choose study in other words it is obligated but I mainly 
interested in Economics. 
Work To be honest, I combine management with teaching. In other words, I work as a full-time teacher at the 
educational facility and as far as I have founded it myself. I have a lot of administrative and managerial 
obligations, as well. 
Student Well, I am studying all relevant subjects to my major as far as my major is economics. I have modules 
which are related with it Currently, for example, we are studying microeconomics, macroeconomics and other 
subjects like finance. 
Applicant As far as I am aiming at entering a university of economics. I am obliged to study subjects like English 
and native language. These are the subjects which are focusing at right now. Because on entrance exam I will 
be obliged to sit exams on the very subjects. 
Pupil 1) Well, at schools of Uzbekistan we are obliged to choose a certain set of subjects. In other words, 
currently we are studying subjects like history, mathematics and English all combined. I have many other 
subjects which I have to study as well. 
2) Well, as far as, I am a school pupil, I am obliged to study a certain set of subjects. This is because curriculum 
is obligatory in Uzbekistan and I have to acquire knowledge over a great numerous subjects ranging from 
mathematics till history.
