The government of Northland is concerned that level of unemployment has been steadily increasing for several months. National statistics indicate that the growth of output in some sectors is robust, with many companies reporting that they have many unfilled vacancies. The government`s economic intelligence unit has stated that the unemployment problem has arisen from inefficencies in the labour market; although there are many jobs available, those seeking employment have the wrong skills, or are in the wrong location, are available at the wrong time to meet the demand for labour, or are unaware of the vacancies. The government has decided to act in order to address this problem, and has announced that it will use a range of fiscal policy measures to boost employment
