QUESTIONSCollection of questions1.What is Good and Evil? In religion, ethics, philosophy, and psychology "good and evil" is a very common dichotomy. In cultures with Manichaean and Abrahamic religious influence, evil is usually perceived as the dualistic antagonistic opposite of good, in which good should prevail and evil should be defeated.[1] In cultures with Buddhist spiritual influence, both good and evil are perceived as part of an antagonistic duality that itself must be overcome through achieving Śūnyatā meaning emptiness in the sense of recognition of good and evil being two opposing principles but not a reality, emptying the duality of them, and achieving a oneness.[1] A monism of goodness would guarantee prosperity since only good can exist, whereas a monism of evil would lead to our extinction. 2.Is good more powerful than evil? Let us suppose you have been unfortunate enough to swallow some poison. The poison has devastating effects on you, but as soon as the doctor gives you a powerful antidote you recover. Because the antidote restores you to your normal state, its effects seem less dramatic to you than those of the poison. But the antidote is even more powerful because it overcame the poison. And in the same way the antidote annihilates poison, love eradicates hatred, light eradicates darkness, and good eradicates evil. Because we find good agreeable, we find its presence normal and instead devote all our attention to evil since it is evil that creates discord. But if you go and ask evil what it thinks of good, it will complain about the beatings it had. Ask the dark spirits what happens when a spirit of light comes by: they scream and take fright. It’s not the spirits of light who take fright! To understand the power of good you need to ask evil.’ 3.What is considered evil? The word evil can have many different meanings, such as morally bad or wrong, causing ruin, pain or injury, or an evil force, power, or personification. Simply by the definition of evil, one can only have a grasp of what evil is, but only through experience one can understand evil fully. Evil is readily perceived differently among people of certain, religions, races, ages, sexes, and mental prowess, but the underlying factor of evil is always geared toward negative outcomes, either physical or moral. Evil is when one purposefully causes pain, not pain caused by fault. Evil is knowing something is morally wrong, but still proceeds in doing so. A great misunderstanding about evil is that unintentional harm to some extent is not evil at all. For example if you're driving along a street and you ran over a cat accidentally and killed it, that is not evil. Although being evil is unadmireable, it is necessary because without it there will be no good. How can one define good, without evil. Just as how can you have love without hate. It is just like yin and yang, evil balances out the good in this world. Although I am not glorying evilness, there is always some evil in everybody. Where do we draw the line between evil and good? We can't. The boundary is based on one's opinions, usually dependent on religion, childhood, and mental prowess. Download 30.04 Kb. Do'stlaringiz bilan baham: |
