People of more than a hundred nationalities are making up a population of over 20 million living in the Republic. National customs were developing and changing as centuries went by. Their aim is to achieve a high level of development in all spheres of our life— in industry, agriculture, science and culture. The rights of Uzbekistan are wide now. The Uzbek language is the state one of the republic. Its role will be increasing in the near future.

There is an Academy of Sciences, The Research Institutes of the Academy play a great role in the development of industry, agriculture, medicine, technology, education, culture and other spheres of Uzbekistan, Tashkent is a beautiful city, in 1966 a strong earthquake destroyed many buildings in Tashkent. Many new houses, shops, offices were built after the earthquake. The streets are wide, straight and clean. There are many high buildings, shops, markets, the Circus, the Zoo, monuments, squares,, hotels in Tashkent. One, or the oldest buildings if. Tashkent is the Kukeldash Madrasah. It was built in the 16th century. There are many parks, 20 museums, 9 theatres, many cinemas, libraries in Tashkent.Tashkent has sister-cities in 7 countries.
