Characters are printed without the need for a ribbon in non-impact printers. Because these 
printers print a full page at a time, they‘re also known as Page Printers. The following are the 
characteristics of non-impact printers:


They don‘t make a lot of noise. 


Supports a variety of typefaces and character sizes. 


In computing, an input device is a piece of equipment used to provide data and control 
signals to an information processing system, such as a computer or information appliance. 
Examples of input devices include keyboards, mouse, scanners, cameras, joysticks, and 
microphones. 
 
Input devices can be categorized based on: 
 
modality of input (e.g., mechanical motion, audio, visual, etc.) 
whether the input is discrete (e.g., pressing of key) or continuous (e.g., a mouse's position, 
though digitized into a discrete quantity, is fast enough to be considered continuous) 
the number of degrees of freedom involved (e.g., two-dimensional traditional mice, or 
three-dimensional navigators designed for CAD applications)

What is Output Device 
Definition: Output device is a hardware component that is used for displaying the results 
of data which are processed by computer system. Output devices allow to convert the electronic 
information into the humans‘ readable format. This format may be audio, visual, textual, or hard 
copy such as a printed document. 
Key difference in between input device and output device is that input device helps to 
insert data to computer, but output device retrieve data from computer‘s storage memory. 
These output devices are two kinds that are either wired or wireless. 
Types of Output Devices: 
Visual Output Devices 
When output devices let uses to view the result or output as image or video format on the screen, 
then these output devices are known as ‗Visual Output Devices‘. For examples are video card, 
projector, monitor and so on.

Data Output Devices 
As the name suggests, when user are capable to read and understand. But it can‘t get to access 
otherwise. These types of result are usually produced in textual format. For example – GPS and 
more 
Print Output Devices 
These types of output devices let you to produce a printed hard copy of electronic data processed 
by computer system are known as print output devices. For example are plotter, printer, braille 
reader, and more. 
Sound Output Devices 
These kinds of output devices receive the information from the computer in audio formats is 
known as sound output devices. For examples are sound card, headphones, speakers, etc.
