An introduction to the management problems is the understanding of the functioning of the production system with particular attention to the definition of KPIs and to the evaluation of performance. Having described the system from the point of view of performance measures and their main drivers, the production management problems, supply chain management are addressed with specific reference to the most common logics in the business environment at the medium and short-term planning level. Prerequisite Elements of statistics (concept of probability distribution, concepts of mean and variance, and distribution of fundamental probabilities such as Normal, Uniform, Exponential). Elements of mathematical analysis (solution of systems of equations, computation of derivatives and integrals, analysis of functions). Course Structure The course includes lectures and classroom exercises. During the lessons, all the topics of the course will be presented both from a theoretical point of view, illustrating the techniques and management tools, and from a practical point of view, applying the tools to examples of business problems and case studies.
