of the work site only by referring the certified plan especially in the area that not really familiarize with it. They may take a few days in locating the area. They also need to find the land owner to conform the location of the lot parcel. Therefore, using this new portable GPS that has been integrated with cadastral GIS database, it can help surveyor to save their time to reach at lot parcel. This automatically saves their time in locating the boundary mark. It helped surveyor when the lot parcel now can also be navigated in this portable GPS. Therefore, in this paper will study on the integration of land parcel data in the Malaysian Cadastral database (PDUK) into GPS system to assist surveyor in locating parcel location based lot number of the land. Keyword: GPS, cadastral survey, navigation system, Boundary mark. I. I NTRODUCTION The use of portable GPS tracking and GPS navigation systems has certainly made life a lot easier and convenient for professionals from fields like geology, surveying, archeology, mapping, forestry, transport, avionics, and search and rescue as the GPS system capable of guiding the direction to the selected destination. Usually users are using the existing map in the GPS navigation system where the spatial data is limited to the data provided by the company that market the product. Portable GPS units are also used widely for regular civilian activities like navigating your car through traffic, for finding road directions in a new area, for finding the route when hiking, biking or walking [1]. GPS tracking system can be used to keep an eye on your children or your pets. There are a few of types of portable GPS that are dedicated GPS navigation devices, such as mobile phones with GPS capability, Laptop PC GPS and GPS modules [2]. In this project, cadastral database will be integrated into the Garmin Portable GPS database to help surveyor locate the land parcel using the portable GPS navigation system Based on Malaysian cadastral system a boundary marker, boundary stone or border stone is a robust physical marker that identifies the start of a land boundary or the change in a boundary, especially a change in a direction of a boundary. They have often been used to mark critical points on boundaries between countries or local administrations but have also been used to mark out the limits of private land-holdings especially in areas where fences or walls are impractical or unnecessary. Boundary markers are often made of stone and are typically placed at a notable or especially visible point. Many are inscribed with relevant information such as the abbreviation of the boundary holder and often a date. Boundary markers may be used to mark property boundaries (land- ownership), or political boundaries. Malaysia Department of Surveying and Mapping (JUPEM) is the government department that responsible on managing of PDUK data .The PDUK data covering the study area will be downloaded into a portable GPS to add a more specific database which include land parcel in GPS database . The PDUK data is containing the specific information of the lot parcel such as bearing ,distance, area, coordinate and boundary mark code that had been approved by the Department. PDUK database is managed and maintained by Geography Information System (GIS) and that invove a few of software such as ArcView, Spatial Data Engine, Oracle and Microsoft 2011 IEEE 7th International Colloquium on Signal Processing and its Applications 469 978-1-61284-413-8/11/$26.00 ©2011 IEEE Access Extension in it management. The structure of PDUK contained 3 information of layer that area Lot Cadastral (LOT.shp), boundary layer (BDY.shp) and boundary mark layer (STONE.shp). TABLE 1 Data structure of GIS cadastral database II. Hardware Software Two-portable hardware were utilized in this study including a computer and hand-held GPS, which functioned as the data conversion as well as editing and GPS receiver, GARMIN GPS is a navigation system with added value of cadastral database to provide a guiding tool in cadastral surveying. The database is developed on a PC computer and then installed onto a hand- held device. Applications are developed and tested on site environment. Database preparation was performed using the Map Info to develop cadastral database, Global Mapper software to change the Map Info data into GPS exchange data, MapSource to create point of interest, MapEdit to convert GPX format into IMG format and Sendmap20 to upload database into handheld GPS. III. Designing Cadastral Navigation System Developing Cadastral navigation system is the process of improving the basic solution obtained from low cost navigation sensors for land mobile applications. This is achieved through the integration of Malsing map provided by the navigation instruments with small scale additional spatial information contained within a PUDK database. In the majority of current real-time GPS navigation systems, a low cost GPS receiver is used to provide information on the handheld GPS’s position, and a Geographic Information System (GIS) is used to provide location details based on the Malsing base map for Malaysia and Singapore. With the higher accuracy PDUK information contained in Cadastral GIS, data can be extracted and integrated into the GPS navigation solution. Instead of using large scale spatial to navigate through main road a more accurate data from cadastral database integrated into Garmin navigation system for locating a more specific land parcel. This type of integration offers a solution that is capable of improving the accessibility and performance of low cost, low precision sensors for locating any specific land lot with GPS navigation system. Generally the process of constructing GPS database for cadastral navigation system is shown in the Figure 1. The Malsing map is the based map in Garmin Navigation system in order to suit the navigation system with cadastral application all the data in the cadastral database need to be uploaded into Garmin navigation system. Figure 1. Workflow of the study IV. Data Extraction from Map Info Professional An early study is necessary to determine what is the essential spatial data format that to display map in the Garmin navigation system. In Malaysia cadastral database Map Info Professional is Used a the main software to keep all the information on the boundary and lot number as well as all the relevant attribute such as the owner name, bearing , distance and coordinates of all corners. Beside that it also keep the data on the general location of the land parcel which Download 72.8 Kb. Do'stlaringiz bilan baham: |
