The importance of agriculture in developing world(1)

Urban Sprawl

The more mechanized farms are used, the lower the need for farmers and farm employees. From a high of about 6.8 million farmers working 1.1 billion hectares in 1935, the United States had less than 2 million farmers working 950 million hectares by the end of the 20th century. Urban sprawl transforms parking fields, shopping centers, office centers, and suburbs into a vast amount of farmland. Concerns over the lack of fertile land for industrial production would be poor if settlements were on the periphery. Yet the towns that draw the most residents have replaced the finest fertile land all too much. A strong economic sanction is to get the best farmland from primary production. (Hatab, 2019).
