Introduction of Dota. 

 

 

 

Defense  of  the  Ancients (DotA)  is  one  of  the  most  famous  computer  game  in  the 

world.  It  is  a multiplayer  online  battle  arena mod for  the  video  game Warcraft  III  : 

Reign  of  Chaos. Dota  2 is  the  stand-alone  sequel  to  the   DotA mod.  Developed 

by Valve  Corporation,  the  game  was  officially  released  on  July  9,  2013  as 

a free-to-play title  for  Microsoft  Windows,  concluding  a  beta  testing  phase  that 

began in 2011.

Most  of  the  thing  of  Dota  and  Dota  2  is  same,  The  only  different  is  the  size  of  the 

map has a little bite different. The goal of the game is to destroy the enemy's base: 

the Ancient. The map is made of three lanes, and jungle in between those lanes (see 

map

). Creeps move down these lanes and attack each other. As a hero, you 

choose a lane to go to, and in this lane there are basic things you can do to win your 

lane and get a better late-game advantage. Eventually, through killing creeps, getting 

kills, and taking the enemie's towers, you will push a creep wave to the enemies base 

and take their creep spawning buildings, causing you to spawn super creeps.

How to Play Dota 

 

 

 

Dota is a game that players use their hero to bit their enemy's hero. Each team have 

to pick five hero from over all 107 of them, both team can also ban 5 hero that they 

don't want enemy to use. The ban and pick is really important because you can pick a 

hero that restrain enemy's hero to have some   advantage. 

Each  hero  has  4  skills,  but  in  every  game,  a  same  hero  will  looks  different,  cause 

there are more 100 equipments and each of them has different usage, it makes that 

a tank can be a support and  a support can be a  Damage per second(Dps), which is 

giving damge to the enemy. So What Does a Hero Truly Need? It is a thing for you to 

decide. 

Farming  and  gank  is  the  other  two  important  things  in  the  game.  Farming  is  about 

how to get gold by killing creep then buy the equipment. Gank is about kill enemy's

How Dota change gaming 

 

Before Dota 2 came out, there are different kind of competitions for the video games. 

Players can earn money by winning these competition. However, the total amount of 

prize pool is low and if the player can't win the game, they may not get pay from his 

team,  even  they  win  the  game,  the  team  manager  may  take  away  the  prize  from 

them. However, when Dota 2 came out, everything change.   

 

 

 

Before  The  International  1  (TI1), the  highest prize  pool  is  just  USD$510000, but TI1 

has  a  total  of  1.6  million  of  prize  pool  and  the  winner  will  have  1  million.  Starting 

from that time, different kinds of tournament came out, from few a year become ten 

to  hundred  and  the  prize  pool  in  also  become  bigger  then  before.  It  is  more 

important  that  it  is  not  only  for  Dota,  it  is  also  for  other  video  games,  the  biggest 

tournament of League Of Legends(LoL) also has same or higher prize pool then TI1. It

Advantage and Disadvantage of Dota 

 

For most of the players, Dota is a game for them to having fun, making friends and 

spending their times. It can also let them to taste the feeling of winning. For some of 

the hard  core players,  it  means everything for them.  They use  dota to earn  money 

and it is not the main thing, it give you a chance to become the best in the world, just 

like other sport. 

 

However, same as the other video games, dota is easy to make people get stuck in it. 

It  may  make people  getting  away  form  studying and  working,  decrease  their  marks 

and money that they earn. For sometimes, school may kick you out or lose your job 

because of gaming. For the professional player, even things become better, they still 

have to win to get big money. if they don't, since gaming career is short( because the 

reaction  speed  will  start  to  drop  around  26-29),  you  have  to  find  another  job  for
