How Coolant Hose Size
Affects Cooler Efficiency
By J. Erik-son, G. Walters, P. Washington,
& QR. Coleman, University of Mountain dale
Improving cooler efficiency is a long-time goal of researchers at Mountain dale. In order to address this problem, our team made a series of observations. These suggested that hose size affects cooler function. Based on these observations, we developed a testable hypothesis. We predicted that larger hoses would increase cooler efficiency.
To test the hypothesis, we created an experiment with two groups. In the control group, we did not manipulate the independent variable at all. The hoses remained the same size in each test. In the experimental group. however, we tested a variety of different hose sizes.
We evaluated the results and formed a strong conclusion. The results supported our hypothesis in every instance. Although the larger hoses are more expensive, they greatly increase e efficiency. This not only has implications for cooler design, it also provides an excellent example of the scientific method.
