IS TEACHING ROLE PLAY USEFUL TO A1 LEVEL ?
Role-play is an excellent way of getting your students to practice their English. They simulate real-life situations and allow them to act out what they would do in a real situation. But don't get stuck on the same tired ideas. Role-play is possible at elementary levels providing the students have been thoroughly prepared. Try to think through the language the students will need and make sure this language has been presented. (Jo Buden) Role playing is especially beneficially for developing language. This is for both children with English as an additional language and for native English speakers.(Nursery) Incorporating role-play into the classroom adds variety, a change of pace and opportunities for a lot of language production and also a lot of fun! It can be an integral part of the class and not a 'one-off' event.(Gillian Porter Ladousse 1987).
CONCEPTION OF ROLE PLAY
Role play is the act of imitating the character and behaviour of someone who is different from yourself, for example as a training exercise. It is effective way of teaching EL . We may use it any level according to a grade of them . It means that usage of role play is distributed according to their language ability . Role play helps to improve imagination of students and if we can create easy structure for teaching it , it will be easy and most effective for both teacher and students.
WHY ROLE PLAY IS USED ?

express themselves in a more forthright way The world of the classroom is broadened to include the outside world - thus offering a much wider range of language opportunities.
WHAT DO ESL STUDENTS NEED TO LEARN FIRST ?
If ESL students are right at the beginning of their learning journey, there's no better place to start than essential questions and vocabulary. And there’s no better way to do so, than through role play. Role play can often be seen as a bit of a silly, somewhat embarrassing activity.
Especially if you’re new to a class and don’t feel comfortable with your peers yet. But, if done correctly, it creates a light-hearted atmosphere and encourages students to interact with each other free from judgement and criticism. So it may seems a bit silly but it we can do it it will be most interesting way .
