IUT Rules and Regulations on Examination
IUT Rules and Regulations for Examinations (for Students) 1. General rules 1.1. The students are required to review and be fully aware of the examination rules and regulations indicated in this document. 1.2. The students are responsible for not causing any disturbance or disruption during the examination. The students MUST follow as directed by the proctor. 1.3. The students should not stay near the examination room and make noise at any time while the examination is in progress. 1.4. Cheating is a very serious misconduct. If a student is caught cheating, the examination paper of the student shall be taken back and marked “cheating” on the examination paper. Then the case shall be officially reported to the Academic Affairs and Admissions Division immediately after the examination. 1.5. The student who is caught cheating shall be asked to leave the examination room, shall be given "F" grade on the subject, shall be excluded from taking the examinations for the remaining subjects in the semester, and even further shall be suspended for the whole semester. 1.6. The students must turn off all their electronic devices in the examination room and put them in their bags. All bags and clothes should be left in either students' locker or at the designated area (at the front of or the back of the examination room, or near white board, or digital podium) as directed by the proctor. 1.7. Any students using abusive or obscure language to the proctor or in the answer sheet shall be penalized, suspended for one semester, or even expelled from IUT. 2. Before the examination 2.1. The students should be in the examination room at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time of the examination. 2.2. The students may enter the examination room only when permitted to do so by the proctor. 2.3. Before the examination starts, the students should check that they have the correct examination question papers, stationary and required materials. 2.4. The students must not write anything on the examination question papers until the proctor announces the start of examination. 2.5. The students should be aware of the following before the examination starts: 2.5.1. Be aware of the examination rules and regulations; 2.5.2. Be aware of the time allocated for the examination; 2.5.3. Be aware of the examination start and finish time written on the board before the examination begins. 2.5.4. Be advised to use the toilet before the examination starts. 2.6. The students’ seats should be lined up and arranged as directed by the proctor. 2.7. The students shall leave their personal belongings including backpacks and handbags in either students' locker or at the designated area (at the front of or the back of the exam room, or near white board or digital podium) as directed by the proctor. 2.8. The students are NOT allowed to carry with them any portable digital devices such as smart phone, digital watch, pagers, tablet, iPods, and so on during the examination. Carrying such devices with them shall be considered as an act of cheating regardless of the circumstances they intend or not. 2.9. Things permitted to carry in an examination room are ID(passport), pen or pencils, and calculators only if necessary and prior notice.
