LOC AmAND

Here we find the remains of the Saint 

Amand priory which was founded in 

1069 : a vast surrounding wall and a 

beautiful ornate gate.

A protohistoric stele, dated from the 

Iron Age, mounted on a cylindrical 

base.

LOC AmAND

In Saint-Amand entdeckt man 

die Spuren des ehemaligen 

Priorats,  welches  1069  gegründet 

wurde.  Ein  Spitzturm  mit  2  runden, 

geschmückten Blattwerken 

überragt die große Ringmauer und 

ein sehr schönes bildhauerisches 

Portal.  Vor  dem  Portal  befindet  sich 

eine frühgeschichtliche Stele der 

Eisenzeit; das Kreuz ist die Markierung 

der  Christianisierung. Lange Zeit 

unberührt, wurde diese Stele gegen 

1903  wieder  neu  errichtet  und  1967 

als historischen Denkmal klassifiziert.

LOC AmAND

In Loc Amand staan de resten van de 

voormalige  priorij  van  Saint-Amand, 

gesticht in 1069. Een tegenboog met 

twee met bladwerk gesierde pinakels 

op een hoge ringmuur en een zeer 

fraai bewerkt portaal met korfboog. 

Voor het portaal staat een 

protohistorische grafzerk uit de 

ijzertijd met daar bovenop een kruis. 

De zerk werd in 1903 weer overeind 

gezet  en  staat  sinds  1967  op  de  lijst 

van historische monumenten.
