The teacher’s role

Teachers should inform children about the aims and purpose of language-learning activities, so they are aware of what they are learning, why they are learning it, and the reasons they are learning it in a particular way. The teacher’s role is very much one of a facilitator, whose responsibility is to create a positive classroom environment. They also need to remain in touch with parents or carers to encourage understanding and involvement from home.

	Kindergarten	Primary School
Definition	Kindergarten denotes a type of preschool that focuses on the children from three to five years of age.	Primary school denotes an elementary school which includes the first three or four grades of a school.
Origin	From German Kindergarten, literally "children's garden"	from Latin primarius "of the first rank, chief, principal, excellent"
Benefits	It involves learning through play-based methods It helps in building a child’s confidence A fun-based environment helps in fast learning They offer various activities which stimulate and engage a child’s mind It prepares the children for primary schools It helps to develop some social skills	It provides a curriculum for well rounded learning It develops language and numeracy skills It helps in nurturing sound values and good habits It prepare the students for secondary education Subjects covered are based on a range of disciplines It generates various opportunities to access the library, etc.
U.S.A.	The child must be 5 years of age by a specific date/month, which is decided by the school.	Primary school usually refers to kindergarten (ages five to six) or first grade (ages 6 and 7) to fourth grade (ages 9 to 10), fifth (ages 10 to 11), or sixth grade (ages 11 to 12).
U.K.	The term kindergarten is rarely used in Britain to describe pre-school education.	They generally cater for children aged from four to eleven.
