Another
highlight is the Parliament building. The world's third largest parliament building, this
Neo-Gothic building was inaugurated in 1886 to mark the country's 1,000th anniversary.
Budapest is well-known worldwide for its incredible
thermal springs, many of which provide
citizens, as well as tourists, with the opportunity to relax in thermal baths. Of the many such
attractions the best known is Széchenyi Thermal Bath. Established in 1913, it's also the biggest
such facility in Europe. There are three outdoor pools and 15 indoor pools.
As impressive inside as it is on the outside, the
Hungarian State Opera House is a must-see
when in Budapest. The building's dimensions alone are
impressive, and since it opened in 1884,
it has played an important role in the city's cultural events calendar. The Opera House can seat
1,261 people in its horseshoe-shaped auditorium.
Said to be
one of the world's oldest still-operating zoos,
Budapest Zoo is
located in the heart
of the city. It is one of the top things for families to do when visiting the city. Established over 150
years ago, the park is home to over 1,070 different species of animals. The zoo park features a
variety of kid-friendly programming including feeding opportunity, a nature reserve, and themed
animal enclosures.
