the left-hand side of the board, leaving space 
below each one to write students’ answers later.

Put the students into pairs. Ask them to copy the 
four headings into their notebooks, leaving space 
under each one.
If you feel the class can work with less teacher 
support, put the students into pairs. Have them 
brainstorm as many ideas for ways of learning a 
foreign language as they can think of. Set a time 
and write them on the board.
