PERSONAL LIFE
For most of his life, Lermontov was considered an ugly person. He was short, round-shouldered, with an unkind look in gloomy eyes and the same unkind smile. However, in the last years of his life, the poet changed, some considered him handsome. He became more free, relaxed in communication, and this freedom surprisingly painted the young man. All three of his Muses - Ekaterina Sushkova, Natalya Ivanova, Varvara Lopukhina did not reciprocate, and married other people. In 1841 Lermontov went to Petersburg. He was on vacation and wanted to submit his resignation. But the grandmother dissuaded her grandson from this step. He returned to the Caucasus, in July of the same year he was killed in a duel. His opponent, retired Major Nikolai Martynov, was not condemned by his contemporaries for the murder of the poet. Lermontov plagued Martynov with his sarcasm for a long time, and such a denouement was the logical conclusion of the endless confrontation between these people. The corpse of the poet lay for a long time in the pouring rain, the doctor simply did not have the opportunity to be at the place of the duel in time. The great poet was buried in Pyatigorsk, but the grandmother did everything to transport the ashes of her beloved grandson to Tarkhany.
