Abstract
Veronica Roth as the author of ''Divergent'' novel,reflected the social discrimination in her novel. The research paper reveals the characteristics of Veronica Roth's science fiction novel ''Divergent'
I started my work with the introduction. In this part I gave brief information about background of the novel,Author's specific theme and what inspired her to write this novel.
The literature review part describes other author's research, how they analyzed ''Divergent'' and their opinions about this novel.
Analysis and discussion section analyzes characteristics with detailed information. In conclusion section all data are summarized.
Key words: Antoganist, protaganist, flat character, dynamic character, Round character.
Introduction
Veronica Anne Roth was born on August 19th in 1988 in New York city. She grew up in Barrington Illinois. Veronica Roth is an American writer who is well known for her trilogy ''Divergent ''which is written in genre of science fiction. Veronica Roth began writing an early ages and she was eager for reading books. Most of Veronica's books are written for young adults and for teenagers. The majority of her books in genre of dystopian fantasy, adventure and science fiction .
Veronica Roth is afraid of a lot of things. For this reason she decided to attend psychology classes. In these courses she learned how to overcome fear and about Exposure therapy. Her fear inspired her to write her bestseller ''Divergent''. In this book, she embodied the girl who is similar to Veronica's personality.
Roth was a 21 years old college senior when she wrote ''Divergent'' and this book was published in New York Times on the bestseller list and was the winner of the YALSA 2012 Teen's Top Ten. The book has been sold more than 32 million copies around the world.
