The English literature in the secon half of the XX century
Mark Twain
The real name of Mark Twain, a great writer who made an invaluable contribution to world literature, was Samuel Lenghorn Clemens, who was born on November 30, 1835 in the American village of Florida, overlooking the state of Missouri. A young orphan from his father, Twain had to work and see the day as a child. Clemens was born in rural Missouri, but while he was still a small child, his family moved to a settlement on the Mississippi River called Hannibal. There, Sam grows up with a very strong interest in the river, and has a great desire to become a ship's manager. It was the dream of all the children, and Twain was proud of himself later, when he became a real manager. The humorous stories of Mark Twain's first creation, “the famous jumping frog that came out of Calaveras”, “journalism in Tennessee”, “how I dotted an agricultural newspaper”, depict an interesting event, anecdote and fictional events, mocking the beburdiness of the bourgeois press. Mark Twain is credited with exposing American pseudo-democracy in his stories “The Life of China”, “how they elected me to the governorship” (1870), an excellent example of social pilgrimage as early as these years. With the publication of these stories, Mark Twain will soon gain fame as America's first humorist. Even after that, his fame continued to expand and expand, but few people noticed that his humor was gradually changing. Mark Twain's “light Yelp” (1872), a book of Nevada ochres, Ch.D.The novel “The Jewel age” (1873), written in collaboration with Warner, and other works of the same period, also cemented the name of its author as a bright, generally pen-sharp humorist. The second period of Mark Twain's work spans from 1873 to 1888. During this period of his creativity, adib feels intense pressure from those who are threatened by his sharp satire and realistic pen. Supporters of the” Boston school " would seek to correct Twain's writing style. In the works of the writer created during this period, a slight restraint is felt, he does not return from his early positives. His best works of the same period, namely “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer” (1876), “The Prince and the gado” (1882), and “The Adventures of Gecklberry Finn” (1884), showed the most unique facets of the writer's skill. The third period of Mark Twain's work includes 1889-1910. During this period, Mark Twain published the novel “Yankee in the court of King Arthur” (1889), “what is man himself?"philosophical narrative,” The Mysterious Stranger “(1898),” the man who broke Gedliberg“, created the pamphlets” United States of oppressors “(1901),” The Great International ceremony" (1902). In all these works, imbued with the spirit of realism, the writer takes vices in society under the guise of sharp satire. Through these works, the talented satirist exposes the original prophecy of American imperialism by consistently promoting the basic principles of realistic art. A characteristic feature of Twain's work, his method of humoristic account of events is also characteristic of his works made during this period. But now this humor becomes increasingly bitter and zakharkhan. The most recent period of his creative activity is considered to be the moment when Twain satire was perfect. One of ADIB's favorite genre types was the pamphlets, which condemned colonial wars and invasion policies. Many of these pamphlets were not published during the writer's lifetime. Because in his own words, American bourgeois society has no freedom of expression. ”Freedom of speech is only the right granted to the dead". In twain's work, prose of a primitive epic character is transmitted, social criticism, exposing the disgusting, ugly sides of the surrounding reality is intensified. The writer's poem "The American suitor" and a series of novellas he created in the 90s: in the hope of finding wealth in whatever way, a dead-end lifestyle is described, capable of creating only maenically fulfilling people who have lost consciousness. The ever-increasing sense of hatred towards the bourgeois world leads the writer to such a depressed philosophy of history that, in the face of the owners of wealth and power, a person is completely defenseless, and situations that hit the earth of human dignity are repeated again and again. Yet nevertheless "The Mysterious Stranger", “what is man himself?"the works, or the philosophical treatise and autobiographical notes that the writer did not want to publish, retained the humanistic essence of Twain's work. His work marked the end of XIX in AKSh literature, and the new era paved the way for the 20th century. Mark Twain It's Samuel L. Clemens ' tahallus, writer H.L.Mincken called him” the true father of our national literature". It is perhaps this name that caused Twain to combine American national humor and serious literature on a larger scale than earlier writers. Throughout this period he wrote mostly comic plays, most famously “The celebrated jumping frog of Calaveras county “As a child, there was a constant constant longing among my friends in my village, located on the West Bank of the Mississippi River. It was a dream to become a sailor. We Dream temporarily about one other thing, but they are just temporary,” recalls the writer of his childhood. “When the circus came, he left, giving us the need to be a clown. In his performance, the Negro supplement evoked a sense of aspiration for life. Now and then, we hope that we will live and everything will be fine. God keeps us from being Sea Pirates. This dream has exhausted me, but I still remember the dream of becoming a sailor.” In history, despite the fact that Europe, now America, cultivated it, great sources have survived, which he wrote about his childhood. This phenomenon inspired his early views in the creation of these two great works. He created such influential characters in the image of Tom and Hak that they became part of American mythology. Both books are short stories about the age of youth, but the second book has a special freshness that it is difficult to realize at first glance. This book is for Anglesey as a teenager. The daxshats that lie under his ideal thoughts of childhood enshrine Twain as if he were an old man5. Download 301.16 Kb. Do'stlaringiz bilan baham: |
