Mark Twain About the American writer Mark Twain Mark Twain (Mark Twain, pseudonym, real name Samuel Langhorne Clemens - Samuel Langhorne Clemens; 1835-1910) is a great American writer, satirist, journalist and speaker. Samuel Clemens is one of America's best and most beloved writers. Twain lived in poverty during his adolescence and young manhood, earning a living by working at various jobs, later gas. worked in editorial offices.
