BIOGRAPHIES
Pablo Garc´ıa-Herreros is a teaching and
research assistant at the Universidad de los
Andes in Bogota, Colombia. He received a BSc
in Chemical Engineering (2007) and is currently
a Master student in Chemical Engineering at
the same university. As teaching assistant, he
leads the complementary sessions to the lecture
in Optimization of Chemical Processes. As
researcher, he works on the optimization field
designing distillation systems for the production
of fuel grade ethanol.
Jorge Mario G´omez is an assistant professor and
former head of the Chemical Engineering Depart-
ment at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogot´a,
Colombia. He received a BSc and MSc in Chem-
ical Engineering from Universidad Nacional de
Colombia, an MBA from Universidad de los
Andes, and a PhD from Universit´e de Pau et des
Pays de l’Adour, France. Currently, he lectures on
Optimization of Chemical Processes. His research
interests include: dynamic optimization with inte-
ger variable in chemical processes and energy optimization in process
systems.
