3.3.1 Instructional Objectives
These define the specific and immediate outcomes of particular teaching-learning situations.
They ordinarily take the form of a list of statements describing
the intended learning for
students. For example: By the end of the NOUN history programme, the students should be
able to:
(i)
Identify major problems of teaching history in Nigeria.
(ii)
Discuss intelligently major issues affecting the teaching of history in Nigeria.
3.3.2 Content Objectives
Content objectives focus
on the acquisition of facts, principles
or concepts associated with
the topic under study.
Examples:
(i)
To identify the major causes of military intervention in Nigerian political history.
(ii)
To explain why casual sex is a threat to human health.
3.3.3 Process Objectives
These are objectives that centre on treatment of content or an action suggested by the topic at
hand.
Examples:
(i)
To evaluate the potential impact of computer on society.
(ii)
To propose ways of improving community services to handicapped persons.
