Some critics have the following against observation method of evaluation in history. 

It is time consuming and energy sapping. 

In some cases it may involve financial cost. 

The person being observed may not give honest response especially if he/she
gets to discover the same. 

There is the tendency for the observer to become bias in his reporting of
observed behaviour.

Conclusion
Teacher -made test is a very important tool in the hands of the History teacher. The History 
teacher does the teaching and so he/she is in a better position to evaluate the learners via his 
test. In doing this, the teacher has to consider the topics taught and the aspects of the topic 
emphasized in his teaching. There is also the need to evaluate through observation to cater 
for the affective domain of educational objectives.
