I'm Sevara Usmonova, a fourth-year student at the Tashkent Institute of Finance's Faculty of Finance. I would like to express my strong interest in applying for Master Programmes in Economic Policies for the Global transition funded by the Erasmus Mundus in the 2023-2024 academic year.
I want to emphasize that this program offers me a very special chance in terms of academic and professional value and development because I am a representative of a developing country. This Personal Statement describes my motivation for the programme, significance and pertinence of my educational background and work experience to the programme and the role of this Master Programme in my future professional career.
At the College of Economics, I received a degree in computer and software engineering in 2019. In college, I developed my database-working skills and completed projects and research on the strong connection between databases and artificial intelligence. I'm currently a bachelor student at the Tashkent Institute of Finance, pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance. I chose to pursue a master's degree after studying the finance field in order to advance my knowledge and abilities. In this period of rapid advancement in artificial intelligence, my master's degree program, which combines macroeconomics, finance, and socioeconomic transformation, will help me become an expert in my area.
My research interests are mostly focused on the recent changes in the Middle East, which provide the clearest illustration of how limiting economic rules, poor governance, ignorance of civil society, and competing national and international interests can affect current events. It is hard to analyze the economic issues in civil society without considering three key factors: the economic slump, a weak governmental structure, and overseas influence. I want to learn about the effects of narrow-minded economic decisions, unfairly targeted economic perspectives, and regional reconstruction through the program.
The course teaching in this programme is structured around three Majors, covering three main areas of economic policies. I decided to pursue Major B in the two-year master's program at the Berlin School of Economics and Law and the Sorbonne University in Paris, which focuses on macroeconomics, finance, and the socioeconomic transition. According to the QS World University Rankings 2023, the Berlin School of Economics and Law is rated 118 globally and 93rd in Germany. And Sorbonne university is ranked 83rd in the QS World University Rankings 2023. They have also an excellent teaching staff with very renewed teachers. I believe that earning a master's degree in international macroeconomics and governance will provide me the chance to fully integrate into the global community and to pursue an international profession in the future. I do think I'll be on the fast track to a career in international macroeconomics and governance with the specialized academic environment created over the years by committed researchers, lecturers, and even students at Universities. The broad knowledge I learned while taking classes at these institutions will enable and prepare me with the abilities and competence needed in the quickly evolving business sector. With my expertise and the opportunity to earn a master's degree, I could start a wonderful profession. I will be able to adjust myself with the right passion once I have it. By doing research and viewing YouTube sample courses, I also got to know professors at the Berlin School of Economics and Law like Eckhard Hein and Ümit Akcay. I was personally impressed by Ümit Akcay's study of global political economy.
I am writing this application with joy in order to complete the EPOG+ program requirements for my master's degree. I have enough faith in my ability to complete further education in the suggested field, which will benefit both my future well-being and society as a whole. I am looking forward to be a part of this prestigious programme.
