Several small branches (respiratory bronchioles) leave the terminal branches of the bronchial tree (terminal bronchioles) and each of these ends in two alveolar ducts. The alveolar ducts lead to the alveolar sacs (sacculi alveolares), in the walls of which alveoli are closely packed. These are the sites of gas exchange. All the alveoli supplied by one terminal bronchiole together form an acinus (containing about 200 alveoli), which may be regarded as the structural unit of the lung. Several acini form a pulmonary lobule. The lobules are bounded by connective tissue septa and can be seen on the surface of the lung as polygonal areas with sides of about 0.5−3 cm. The two lungs together consist of about 300 million alveoli, each with a diameter of about 0.2 mm. From these numbers, the total surface available for gas exchange after inspiration in an adult can be calculated to be about 100m2.

III). Унг упканинг урта булагида иккита сегмент булади : segmentu laterale (S. IV), segmentum mediale (S. V). Унг упканинг пастки булагида бешта сегмент булади : segmentum apicale (S. VI), segmentum basale mediale (cordiacum) (S. VII),segmentum basale anterius (S. VIII), segmentum basale laterale (S. IX), segmentum basale posterius (S. X). Чап упканинг юкори булагида бешта сегмент булади : segmentu apicоposterius (S. I-II) - (уз навбатида бу сегмент segmentum apicale (S. I) ва segmentum posterius (S. II) лардан хосил булади); segmentum anterius (S. III); segmentum lingulare superius (S. IV); segmentum lingulare inferius (S. V). Чап упканинг пастки булаг бешта сегментдан хосил булган : segmentum apicale (superius) (S. IV); segmentum basale mediale (cordiacum) (S. VII); segmentu basale anterius (S. VIII), segmentum basale laterale (S. IX), segmentum basale posterius (S. X).
