Nowadays, due to the great developments made in transportation systems, it is now viable for people to enjoy a wide range of food products from all parts of the world. While this trend has couple of negative sides, I believe that its positives are more significant.

Admittedly, having a chance to taste cuisines of different nationalities possesses certain worth-to-say disadvantages. First and foremost, transporting food items over the countries might have higher financial costs. As various types of transportation such as aircrafts, railways, ships and trucks are required in this process, a considerable amount of money needs to be allocated for their transport costs, such as fuel, taxes and maintenance of vehicles. Having the price of food increased, it could be unaffordable for poor people to purchase foreign products. Besides that, since it takes at least several days to distribute goods across the countries, food stuffs might readily go bad during that time. Therefore, importing country might either end up paying huge sums for inedible/unpalatable foods or adversely harm the health of its residents who unconsciously consume those foods.

That notwithstanding/nevertheless/On the other hand, I am convinced that advantages of eating foods of various nations outstrips its drawbacks. One potential benefit can be that this development satisfies people’s needs to go abroad and taste their national meals from restaurants. Taking advantage of this trend, today people no longer have to waste a great amount of their precious time and money to travel overseas to taste their cuisines. Secondly, these days we can see a number of people travelling around many countries of the world and stay there for prolonged period of time. In the past, because they could not find their national meals abroad, they often feel face a culture shock. However, as there is a wide availability of variety of foods in almost every region, that common problem has been noticeably suspended.

In conclusion, it seems to me that although this trend has particular demerits including transport costs and damage to the content of imported food products, l share the view that the aforementioned benefits definitely outweighs its drawbacks.
