Kurbangaliy Tokpolatovich Sharipov, 1979, was mortally wounded on July 02, 2022 in Nukus near the building of the special detention center (for administrative detainees), report of forensic medical examination No.101/7 dated August 01, 2022; 19. Ilham Makhmudovich Yussupov, 1988, died from a wound received on July 02, 2022 near the building of the Nukus police department, report of forensic medical examination No.102/8 dated August 02, 2022. According to the list, all the dead were adult men aged between 25 and 52. Only one of the 19 (Bakhadyr Jaksimuratov, a member of the opposition Alga Karakalpakstan party) was fatally wounded on July 01, 2022, outside Jokargy Kenes (parliament) of the Republic of Karakalpakstan; the others were dead or wounded in various districts of Nukus on July 02. The largest number of deaths, six, occurred in the area between the airport and the Shorsha Baba cemetery. Five people were fatally wounded near the police station of Nukus. Two were dead on the Amu Darya bridge between Nukus and Khojeyli district and near the Jokargy Kenes building, one each near Koskol 1, near the Ministry of Internal Affairs reception centre (for administrative detainees), near the Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Service and near the Sarancha bridge (over the Kattagar channel). According to official materials, there were no members of the security forces who carried out public order protection tasks among the dead. However, according to unofficial sources, one of the "List 19" figures, Akhmad Turdimuratov, was an officer of the Uzbek State Security Service. He was on leave at the time of the incidents and sustained a bullet wound in Nukus on July 02, from which he died in a hospital in Tashkent on July 11. Karakalpak opposition activists claim that Turdimuratov "defected to the people" during the protests. He is mentioned in the materials of the investigation as a participant in the mass rally. A comparison of the "list of 19" with unofficial materials reveals that the official list includes the names of three previously unknown victims (No.7, 14 and 18), but at the same time omits the names of some of the dead. As an example, the case of Nukus resident Alisher Daribayev, who suffered a fatal bullet wound on July 02, 2022, near Svetlana market when he went out to buy groceries. After his father complained in September, Daribayev's body was exhumed and the family later received material assistance from state authorities. Information concerning Daribayev's case is based on reliable sources and his absence from the official list of the dead seems puzzling. If even his name was included in the list after the investigation into the "group of 22 x" ended, it is unclear why in December 2022 the Uzbek General Prosecutor's Office was still reporting the deaths of 19 people to an "Independent Committee". It is worth noting here that Alisher Daribayev's name is mentioned in the materials of the "group 22 x" investigation as one of the participants in the mass rally, which contradicts the testimony of his father, who witnessed the circumstances of his son's death. The issue of whether or not there were casualties as a result of the use of firearms by security forces in the Kanlikul district of Karakalpakstan also requires clarification. Unofficial sources report two dead near an industrial building. Officially there are no fatalities outside Nukus. The list of wounded in the Kanlykul district indicates two civilians with severe and moderate injuries near one of the production buildings. However, their names and surnames do not match those of the two dead mentioned in unofficial sources. The issue requires further investigation. The available official materials do not provide reasons for the deaths of 19 people. However, comparison with unofficial sources suggests that at least 15 of them (and possibly all of them) died as a result of the use of firearms or special means by government forces. The available material does not indicate the location of the forensic examination in many cases. It can be assumed that most of the reports on the causes of death were drawn up in Nukus, but at least one was carried out in the Khojeli district. Download 35.18 Kb. Do'stlaringiz bilan baham: |
