External audits ensure that information regarding an organization’s finances and operations remains accurate, consistent and reliable as they act as an independent avenue to evaluate its performance. This allows stakeholders – whether they’re members of the community, partners or suppliers - to make informed decisions when engaging with an organization without having to rely on biases from within the business itself. Furthermore, by having accurate financial reporting through internal or external audits also increases donor confidence which is crucial for relying on donations as a source of income for many organizations
