Disadvantages of Organized Audit in Non-Governmental and Non- Profit Organizations:

  • 1. An audit process can be time consuming as sufficient information will be needed from the organization for a full analysis to take place. This could add stress onto existing resources and cause labour intensive workloads for staff members resulting in additional costs for external oversight processes if lack of capacity exists within the organisation to manage this correctly .
  • 2. Further, auditing is an expensive process as it requires skilled personnel with up to date knowledge who understand specialist audit regulations meaning 3rd party cost has to be incorporated into already ebbing budgets of these organisations . Cases like fraud can also complicate matters making it difficult determine accountability and require costly investigations leading prolonging processes further increasing costs associated with audits overall .
  • 3. Furthermore, there is always risk associated openness when committed organizations are put under scrutiny by outside parties potentially giving way confidential information those have not authorised access too or infringe upon related privacy legislation leaving vulnerable sectors exposed thus relation between auditor and organisation must remain professional and not too much power is vested into one side above limits prescribed by law
