2. LEAD PRODUCTION STATISTICS FOR 2016-2020 
 
In terms of production, lead ranks 5th (after iron, aluminum, copper and zinc) 
[56]. 30-50% of lead is produced from secondary raw materials. In 2016-2020, lead 
production increased by 0.66% on average [57]. The production capacity of the last 
5 years is presented in Table 1.

Lead production has reached the maximum value (4.9 million tons) by 2019. In 
2020, a decrease was again observed in the diagram (Fig.1). This can be explained by 
the global pandemic situation [58-62].

According to 2020 data on lead production, Uzbekistan ranks 26th among the 
countries of the world. Despite the large natural reserves of lead in Uzbekistan, lead 
is mainly obtained from secondary raw materials [63-85].
