We will start studying web technology (Internet technology) by studying the following three concepts of web design:
1. Web page;
2. Website;
3. Web server.
Technology, when translated from the Greek language (techne), means art, skill, knowledge, and these, in turn, are processes. Processes are a set of certain actions to achieve a set goal.
A web page is a document that has its own unique address and is viewed using a special viewing program (browser). It can include text, graphics, sound, video or animation data combination - multimedia documents, hyperlinks to other documents.
A website is a logical combination of several web pages.
A web server is a computer connected to the network or a program on it that performs the tasks of providing common resources to the client or managing them. The Internet cannot be imagined without web servers that provide users with the opportunity to freely use network resources. Most of the information provided on the Internet is collected on such servers.
Web servers integrate databases and multimedia information. The Web page and Web sites are stored on the Web server.
The web server uses client-server technologies in terms of the general principles of client computer system organization.

Nowadays, web technology is developing at a very high speed. Every day, new sites are added to the world wide web (and many sites are finishing their work). The basis of the sites is the html hypertext language. Site builders have been using html 4 for many years (about 10 years). In 2004, large companies (Apple, Opera, Mozilla) joined together to form a new group and named this group WhatWG (Web Hypertext Application Technology Working Group). Then the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) joined this group and started producing the new html 5. HTML 5 replaced flash players with tags and added separate tags for site structure. On January 18, 2011, the HTML 5 logo was created and released to the public on April 1, 2011.
The first tag used when starting to write an HTML document is the tag. It should always be at the beginning of the document. The closing tag must have the form . These tags mean that all the text between them represents an entire HTML document. In fact, the document is a plain text ASCII file. Without these tags, the browser cannot detect and translate the document format. Often this tag has no parameters. Until HTML 4.0, there was a VERSION parameter. In HTML 4.0, the parameter appeared instead of VERSION.
