SEWAGE SYSTEMS

The method of joint or separate discharge of three types of wastewater (domestic, industrial, agricultural, etc.) is called a sewage system.

Sewage systems are divided into the following types:

Sewage systems are divided into the following types:

  • general,
  • fully separated,
  • not fully separated,
  • partially separated
  • combined.

In the common drainage system, one sewer network is placed underground and all types of wastewater are discharged together.
A fully separated sewer system will have several sewer lines. There are at least two of them, and each network is designed to drain a certain type of water.

Incomplete separated system.

complete UNSEPARATED sewage SYSTEM

A complete unseparated sewage system is a single sewage network, in which dirty domestic and industrial wastewater is discharged, polluted industrial wastewater is first transferred to local treatment facilities.

Incomplete sewage system

  • A separate sewer system consists of two sewer networks, one for domestic and industrial wastewater, and the other for rainwater, which has a common main collector. In this system, the rain network is connected to the common main collector by means of a special water distribution chamber. All domestic and industrial wastewater, melted snow, rain and a certain amount of rainwater are discharged from it to the treatment plant.

Combined system.

In this system, one part of the city is sewered with a common drainage system, and the other part is completely separated. This system is created as a result of the reconstruction of sewage networks, if it is a general drainage system in large cities.

When it rains heavily, the consumption of waste water increases, and the self-cleaning capacity of sewage networks increases.

When it rains heavily, the consumption of waste water increases, and the self-cleaning capacity of sewage networks increases.

Disadvantage: the initial cost of building sewage networks and treatment plants is very high, because of the large amount of wastewater discharged from the treatment plants. During the cyclical period, the amount of rainwater flowing into sewerage networks is several times greater than domestic and industrial wastewater.
