Types of competitions
Competitions are a continuation of educational training work. They put an end to the grueling work of the coach with the athlete. Helps to determine the level of training of participants in competitions in different ways, promotes technical and tactical improvement. In the process of participating in competitions, discipline, harmony in players, subordination of their interests to the interests of the team and control over themselves, diligence and strong willpower in winning, nurture feelings of responsibility for the team ahead.
Basketball competitions can only be team-based. According to the organizational form, they are divided into formal (basic) and friendly (auxiliary) competitions.
Affiliated to the official competitions are the Olympic Games, World premierships, European, Asian, Uzbekistan premierships, etc.k. competitions are considered. The winner is awarded the title of champion. Competitions for the Cup are held to ensure that the maximum number of teams enter them, and to determine the winner in a short time, regardless of the number of participants.
Friendly matches are said to be a competition in which teams agree on a different period of preparation (they are sometimes held before the main competitions). Currently, in some cities and international friendly meetings have become traditional. They help to promote sports games among the public, develop friendly relations among different peoples.

Methods of competition
Three methods of conducting basketball competitions are used: circular, cutting and mixed method.
The use of this or that method of conducting a competition will depend on the task of the competitions, the state of sports facilities, the level of training of participants, material means, the duration of the transfer, etc.
Circular method. The principle of competition with this method is that each team meets each other once (1 krug) or several times (2 and more krug). The circular method will not only determine the winner of the competition wisely, but will also determine the position of all participating teams worthy of sports and technical training. The main disadvantage of the circuit is that it takes a long time to race. Circuit competitions are held as single meetings, rounds and tournaments. Matches held as single matches are scheduled for one match at each team's ground, with a few days off between them. Usually, the game is played on its own field and on the opponent's field. Such meetings do not require participants to be released from study or work.
Events held as rounds are part of the overall competition. Teams compete in one place, divided into groups and without rest in a few days. The competition can consist of two or more rounds. The conduct of the competition in such a way is appropriate to the goal when the participating teams are territorial scattered. The disadvantage of this is that teams are deprived of opportunities to perform on their field and in their city.
The tournament represents a competition that takes place over several days at the same venue as its content; the schedule is held every day except Games weekend. A schedule of games can be drawn up in several ways, for this it is necessary to provide:
- determine the number of teams according to the applications submitted for participation in the competition;
- setting the number of schedule days required for the competition, when the number of teams is even, the number of schedule days will be less than the number of teams, and if white, the number of teams will be equal;
- match scheduling;
- draw lots among teams.
The result of competitions with a circular method is recorded similarly to the chess table.
Draw lots among teams. The main purpose of drawing lots is to conceal (give) certain numbers to teams in order to make it possible to build a calendar of games using different schemes. Two methods of distribution are used: by drawing lots or in the "Serpentine" method.
The basis for distribution is usually the results of the teams to previous or preliminary competitions. But other principles can also be the basis for this. This must be specified in the regulations on the competition.
Holding competitions on the cutting method. When competitions are held under this method, the team that lost the meeting does not participate in the next meetings. As a result, at the end of the competition, there remains a team that has not lost a single time. That same team is the winner. In the last (final) meeting, the team losing to the winning team is the second. The cutting method also has a number of disadvantages.
This method does not allow to determine the actual positions of all teams, and when this method is used, most teams participate in very few meetings. A strong team can lose on the first day and get out of competition.
In competitions held according to the method of departure, all meetings must be completed with the victory of a team.
This method consists of 2 forms:
A) getting out after losing once;
B) exit after losing twice.
Teams in bab-numbers from above and below are exempt from first round matches when the number of teams is even.
In times when the number of teams is odd, one team is more likely to be released than the bottom-of-the-table in first-round matches.
Strong teams can be defeated in the first round itself and scattered on the table to prevent exits.
For eight teams, the elimination method after one loss is structured as follows:
To determine the number of teams participating from the first round, the following formula is used:
(a-2 n) x 2 q X
where a is the number of teams participating, 2 n is the number of teams equal to the number of teams participating, close to 2 is the number of teams participating:
For example, the number of participating teams is equal to -10, the nearest number increased to Karra is 2 Cubic q, which means -8

We solve the formula:

(a-2) x q (10-23) x 2 q (10-8) x 2 q 2x2q4;
Round 1-Round 2-Round 3
(quarter-finals) (semi-finals) (final
When the number of teams is 1-0, three teams are allocated from both sides of the ustini, while the four teams in the Middle start first round matches.
Jalwal for 10 teams.
Round 1-Round 2-Round 3-Round 4
(quarter-finals) (semi-finals) (final
When the number of teams is odd, in the first round, more than one team from the bottom of the tableau will be exempt from games.
For example, 11 teams participate. In it:
( a - 2N) X 2 q (11 – 23) x 2 q (11 - 8) X 2 q 3 X 2 q 6
So, from the middle of the table, 6 teams will start the 1st round competitions, while 5 teams with numbers above two and below three will continue the competitions from the second round onwards.

Round 1-Round 2-Round 3-Round 4

(quarter-finals) (semi-finals) (final
A method of distributing strong teams is used in an attempt to eliminate chance or two strong teams being knocked out in the 1st round. In order to spread strong teams, certain numbers are allocated to them and a separate lot is drawn between them.
Mixed method. When races are held in a mixed style, part of the meetings are held in a breakaway fashion, and the second part is held in a circular fashion. This method is used when the number of teams participating in the competitions is in large numbers in Ham, where they are located far from each other in territorial terms. In this case, all teams are divided into certain regions or groups. While the races are held in regions and groups with the elimination method, the final races may be held in a round robin format. And, conversely, if competitions are held in circuit ususli in regions and groups, the final competitions can be held as a way of getting out.
In the running methods, the team written first of each pair of the competition schedule is the host, and the team written second is the guest.
It is known that the sportswear of the members of the team who are meeting in the competitions held is different-a certain color. Therefore, when necessary, the hosts need to change their clothes. The hosts should give the guests a chance to choose the pitch before the start of the match.
Competition regulations
Based on the schedule of approved sports competitions, a separate "regulation" is drawn up for each competition. The preparation and conduct of schedule competitions began with the development of a "regulation", and this "regulation" is the main document when conducting a competition.
The competition"regulation" will have a huge impact on the educational and sports work of the physical education team. A clear knowledge of the"charter" in advance will help to properly plan educational and sports work. The "regulation" is sent to all organizations participating in the competition in advance.
The organization conducting the competition should indicate the following when drawing up a " regulation:
1. Purpose and function. The purpose of the competition (completion of training work, identification of strong teams, popularization of basketball, etc.k.) will depend on the scope and type of competition.
