PLANNING FOR DIFFERENT AGE GROUPS

CLASSROOM MANAGEMEND IN DIFFERENT AGE GROUPS
Classroom management is the process teachers use to ensuring that classroom lessons run smoothly without disruptive behavior from students compromising the delivery of instruction. It includes the prevention of disruptive behavior preemptively, as well as effectively responding to it after it happens.
What are the 4 keys for successful classroom management?
Building Community, Motivation, Responsibility, and School Safety. Explore the four key skill areas (community, motivation, responsibility, and school safety) essential to establishing an atmosphere that supports learning for all students.
Management of a Heterogeneous Classroom
Teachers need to remain aware and recognize when a heterogeneous grouping does not function properly for a student at any level. Teachers should support advanced students by supplying additional academic challenges and help students who fall behind receive the assistance they need to catch up. And students in the middle of a heterogeneous group face the risk of getting lost in the shuffle as the teacher concentrates on the special needs of students at either end of the spectrum.
Activity 2. Video about classroom management. The teacher put the short video and the learners watch it, then they discuss it.
Activity 3. Reading task. The teacher cut the paper and distribute them to learners. They read it and then explain them.
Classroom Management Techniques
Student behaviors like shouting, not paying attention, avoiding work, disrespect, refusal, and engaging in power struggles take your focus away from teaching and students’ focus away from learning. The following classroom management strategies can be used to help maintain student focus and create student consistency around class expectations.
Understand your students. Get to know each student as an individual. Build rapport with them based on trust and understanding. Be sure to let your compassion for each student reflect through your nonverbal behavior and your paraverbal communication.
