Introduction:
Qualitative Reactions to Anions- a method in analytical chemistry which is used to find out the compositon of compounds through various reagents. Basicly it tries to detect the anions present in an aqueous solution.
Answers to questions:

  1. To detect sulfate ions, we use a solution containing barium cations (d).

  2. The sign ↓ indicates the precipitation of a white gelationous precipitate (b)

  3. To distinguish between HCl and NaCl, we can use Methyl Orange (d)

  4. To recognize the solutions of NaNO3 and AgNO3, we can use HCl solution (b)

Equations:

  1. (Ag+) + (Cl-) = AgCl

  2. (Ag+) + (Br-) = AgCL

  3. (Ag+) + (I-) = AgI

  4. 3 (Ag+) + PO4(3-) = Ag3PO4

  5. Ba2(+) + SO4 (2-)= Ba2SO4

  6. 2H(+) + CO2(-3) = H3CO2 & 2H(+) + CO3 (2-) = H2CO3

  7. 2H(+) + SiO2 (-3) = H3SiO2 & 2H(+) + SiO3(2-)= H2SiO3

Conclusion:
Qualitative analysis involves the detection of acidic and basic radicals present in inorganic salts which are formed by the reaction of acids and bases.
Overall, the method is similar to the qualitative analysis of cations just adjusted for anions.
