Description. A white to slightly brownish pink powder.
Solubility. Sparingly soluble in water.

Aminonaphtholsulfonic acid TS. 
Procedure. Add 0.25g of 1,2,4-aminonaphtholsulfonic acid R to 100ml of freshly
prepared sodium metabisulfite (150g/l) TS with mechanical stirring. After
stirring for 15 minutes, add 0.5 g of anhydrous sodium sulfite R. After stirring
for an additional 5 minutes, filter the mixture. 
Storage. Keep in a brown bottle. 
Note. This reagent should be prepared freshly every week. 
Ammonia (~260g/l) TS. d ~0.894.
