It forms the society capable quickly to adapt in the modern world1. Conditions of reforming of all education system the question of the world assistance to improvement of quality of scientific-theoretical aspect of educational process is especially actually put. Speaking about the 20th anniversary of National Independence President I.A.Karimov has declared in the program speech “Harmoniously development of generation a basis of progress of Uzbekistan”; “... all of us realize, that achievement of the great purposes put today before us, noble aspirations it is necessary for updating a society”. The effect and destiny of our reforms carried out in the name of progress and the future, results of our intentions are connected with highly skilled, conscious staff the experts who are meeting the requirements of time2. The present graduation qualification paper deals with the actual problems of the phrase structure in English, as represented in the book K. Macleod’s “The Wrock and Rune”, which presents a certain interest both for the theoretical investigation and for the practical language use. The actuality of the investigation is explained on one hand by the profound interest to the function of the various structural types of phrase in the literary text and in speech, and on the other hand by the absence of the widely approval analusis of the phrase structures used in K. Macleod’s “The Wrock and Rune”from the semantic, stylistic, structural, distributional and statistical point of view. The novelty of the qualification paper is defined by concrete results of the investigation. Special emphasis in laid on various types of rendering the structure, the stylistic features of the phrases of different structures of English, in Shakespeare’s tragedies. The aim of this qualification paper is to define the specific features of phrase structure of English in K. Macleod’s “The Wrock and Rune”.In accordance with this general aim the following particular tasks are put forward. To define the notion of the phrase structure as a linguistic notion; To reveal the specific structural peculiarities of English phrases; To analyse the linguistic literature on the problems analyzed; To determine the essential structures of English phrases used in K. Macleod’s “The Wrock and Rune” To analyse the basic noun phrase with determiners used in K. Macleod’s “The Wrock and Rune”. To analyse the complex noun phrases K. Macleod’s “The Wrock and Rune”. To analyse structural features of prepositional features used in K. Macleod’s “The Wrock and Rune”. To analyse the fuctional typology of phrases in English; To analyse the structural – functional features of Participle phrases in English used in K. Macleod’s “The Wrock and Rune” 10)To analyse the structural – fuctional features of Gerund phrases; 11)To analyse the structural- functional of Infinitive phrases; 12) To analyse the structural – functional features of noun phrases. The methods of investigation used in this qualification paper are as follows: structural, distributional, descriptive and statistic. The practical value of the research is that the material and the results of the given qualification paper can serve as the material for the theoretical courses of lexicology, grammar, comparative typology, as well can be used for practical lessons in grammar, home reading, oral and written speech practice etc. The material includes: E. Caldwell’s works. Different scientific literature on theoretical English grammar, comparative typology and translation theory; The novels, stories written by American and British authors of the XXth century to compare the case with that the works by K. Macleod’s “The Wrock and Rune”. The theoretical importance of the qualification paper is determined by the necessity of detailed and comprehensive analysis of the phrase structure, which is very often used in literature feeling various stylistic or pragmatic functions. The structure of the work – the present graduation qualification paper consists of an introduction, 3 chapters and a conclusion, which are followed by the list of literature used in the course of the research.
