THE POLICY OF THE SOVIET GOVERNMENT IN THE FIELD OF 
EDUCATION 
 
Annotation: This article discusses the policy of the Soviet government in the 
field of education. 
Key words: enlightenment, education, ideological interests, literacy. 
The declaration of independence of Uzbekistan has opened a wide way for 
the country to build a democratic and humane society, the transition to a market 
economy. Thanks to independence, the past history, spiritual values and ancient 
culture of the Uzbek people have been restored. President of the Republic of 
Uzbekistan Islam Karimov spoke about the revived national spirituality and 
enlightenment of the Uzbek people during the years of independence, noting in 
particular: At the beginning of the 20th century, the enlightenment movement in 
Turkestan fell into the hands of Tsarist Russia, and only through enlightenment was 
it possible to awaken the declining country and open the eyes of the people. 
Enlightenment has not lost its significance for us today, nor will it. Only if we can 
bring up intelligent, highly spiritual people, we will be able to achieve the goals we 
have set for ourselves, and prosperity and development will be established in our 
country. If we do not solve this problem, all our prayers will be one money: there 
will be no progress, no future, no prosperous life! ”. It is known that the Uzbek 
people have gone through a difficult and controversial period of colonialism and 
Soviet rule in the Russian Empire, which lasted for almost 150 years. "But even in
