nstall the wireless access point first. For stores with ceiling tiles, the access
point can be installed directly on the ceiling tile in approx. the middle of the
sales floor. For stores with hard ceilings, install the access point at the top and
on the wall directly behind the POS.
Run a network cable from the POE port on the wireless access point to the area
where the network equipment will be installed. Label this cable as EAP.
Hang the ER605, POE Switch and Network Switch on the wall near the ISP
modem/router.
Connect port 5 of ER605 to port 5 of the POE Switch.
Connect cable labeled EAP to port 1 of the POE Switch.
Locate ISP modem/router. Logon to modem/router web portal and switch the
modem/router into bridge mode or passthrough mode. There will be 2 different
setups:
1) The ISP has provided a modem/router and the store is using this as their
wi-fi.
Make sure the wi-fi is turned off on the modem/router through the
web portal
Connect all ethernet cables plugged into modem/router into
ports 2 - 4 of the ER605 router and ports 2-4 of the POE

switch. Some of these cables may not be in use and can be
removed.
Connect port 1(WAN) of ER605 to port 1(LAN) of ISP router/modem.
2) The ISP has provided a modem and there is a separate router that handles
wi-fi.
Disconnect the router.
Disconnect all cables going out of the routers LAN ports and connect
these cables to ports 2 - 4 of the ER605 router and ports 2-4 of the
POE switch. Some of these cables may not be in use and can be
removed.
Disconnect the cable between the modem and the router from the
router and connect it to port 1(WAN) of ER605
At this point, the network should start provisioning automatically.
Point of Sale
Ipad will be installed into the stand with the USB hub already connected. Screw
the iPad stand to the desk.
Locate the receipt printer. If it is USB only, then it will be replaced with a
networked printer.
Locate the ethernet cable coming into the POS Cabinet from the network
equipment. It will probably be plugged into the Windows PC.
Install the network switch in the POS cabinet. Incoming Ethernet plugs into port
5.
Locate the IO Block for the credit card terminal. Trace the cable coming out of the
card machine to the block which has power, usb and 3 ethernet ports.

Connect the port 1 of the switch to ethernet port eth0 on the IO Block. Connect
port 2 to the receipt printer. Connect port 3 to the iPad.
Connect the apple power cord to the USB type C port on the USB Hub connected
to the back of the iPad Stand.
Connect the USB keyboard and the USB scanner to the USB Hub on the back of
the iPad stand.
Power the iPad on and complete the initial configuration.
Remove the old windows pc and monitor.
Cameras
Install one of the cameras facing into the store from the front door area.
Install the other camera facing the cash drawer near the POS area.
Cameras will be installed into ceiling if ceiling tiles are being used. For hard
ceilings, use the wall above the door and behind the POS area for the camera
locations.
Run a network cable from each camera and plug them in port 2 and port 3 of the
POE Switch. If you run out of ports, you might have to install another network
switch. Just connect it from ports 2-4 of the router to port 5 on the switch.
At this point, the cameras should have power and can be adjusted.
