In practical use, financial management involves the management of various financial assets, each of which requires the application of appropriate management methods, taking into account the specific characteristics of the relevant link in the financial market. Thus, financial management can be considered as a complex management complex, which includes the following.
1) risk management;
2) credit operations management;
3) management of securities transactions;
4) management of foreign exchange transactions;
5) management of work with precious metals and precious stones;
6) management of real estate transactions.
Financial management is done over time. The temporal character affects the goals and directions of management. Interim financial management is divided into the following. strategic management; operational and tactical management. Strategic financial management is investment management. This is related to the implementation of the chosen strategic goal and includes: financial evaluation of capital investment projects; selection of investment decision-making criteria; selection of the most optimal option of capital investments; identification of funding sources. Investments are evaluated using a variety of criteria that may vary. For example, it is useful to invest if: the return on investment in the project exceeds the return on deposit; return on investment is higher than inflation; taking into account the time factor, the profitability of this project is higher than the profitability of other projects. All investments flow over time, so it is important to consider the impact of the time factor in strategic management: first, the value of money decreases over time; second, the longer the investment period, the higher the level of financial risk. Therefore, methods such as capitalization of profits (ie capitalization of profits), discounting of capital, mixing, reduction of financial risk are widely used in strategic management.
