Clause of reason
We use clauses of reason to the reason of
something. They are introduced with :
because / as / since / the reason for / the reason
why / because of / on account of / due to / owing
to / due to the fact that / owing to the fact that,
etc.

the reason for + noun / -ing form

the reason why + clause

on account of + noun

Examples:
• We rarely think about breathing
, because it is
something we do automatically.
• Lots of
animals are endangered since their natural
habitats are being destroyed.

The reason for the car accident was
the fact that the
driver did not see the cyclist.

The reason why he had a

that he did not see the cyclist.
• All passengers were asked to leave the ship
due to a
fire in the engine room. ( Instead of
due to you may
use
because of / on account of / owing to )
