Individual choice of sports and their brief description

In sports pedagogy, psychology and physiology, there are various approaches to the grouping of sports according to their individual characteristics. Of course, any approach to a certain extent is always conditional, since no sport, no system of physical exercise affects a person in the same way, does not develop, for example, one of the physical qualities in a "pure" form. However, these conditional groupings make it possible to combine various kinds of sports, systems of exercises according to their leading characteristic, on the basis of which it is possible to give them a detailed characteristic, which is necessary for an individual choice of a kind of sport for regular training. In addition, such a conditional grouping provides an opportunity to systematize and summarize in the proposed characteristics the role of certain types and systems of physical exercises.

At the same time, we emphasize once again the need to take into account personal psychophysical qualities when choosing sports. Here is a quote from James Gavin, a professor of applied sociology at Concordia University in Montreal: “People who lead a socially isolated lifestyle tend to those types where you can train alone. People with an aggressive personality choose "aggressive sports". But there is also a feedback: the kind of sport influences the character of a person. This is why it is important to make the right choice.

The problem of emphasized education and improvement of the basic physical qualities of a person - strength, speed, endurance, dexterity, flexibility - is always less difficult at the very initial stages of systematic exercises, that is, for beginners, since during this period, as a rule, there is a simultaneous improvement in each of them ... If we develop strength, then endurance also improves, if we develop flexibility, then strength readiness also improves to some extent. It is no coincidence that at this stage of training, the greatest effect is given by a complex training method, that is, general physical training.



However, as the level of training in any particular physical quality increases, with a gradual increase in sports qualifications from a beginner to an athlete-master, the effect of the parallel development of several physical qualities gradually decreases. This requires a careful selection of special exercises in the process of training, especially since the motor qualities of the neuromuscular apparatus of a person at a high development of physical quality begins to inhibit the development of another. This is why it is difficult for a top-class weightlifter to achieve high performance in endurance exercises, and a long-distance runner in strength exercises.

Thus, the accentuated upbringing of individual motor qualities with the use of specific sports should be based on a certain minimum of development of all basic motor qualities, which is usually achieved in the lessons in secondary school, or in a special educational institution in practical physical education classes, or in preparatory groups for sports in sports schools
